About MedNexus

Helping UK students approach medicine applications with clarity and confidence.

MedNexus supports applicants through the hardest parts of the UCAS process — the personal statement, the UCAT, and the interviews that decide the outcome. We bring structure to a journey that rarely explains itself.

Who runs it

Mohammed, Zain and Faisal — all studying medicine, all mentoring applicants through the process they finished recently.

Why we exist

The process is unclear from the outside.

Applying to medicine is competitive, high-pressure, and largely undocumented. Deadlines arrive before the advice does. Most applicants are working out what matters at the same time as they are trying to do it well.

MedNexus exists to remove that guesswork. We help students understand what to focus on, where to improve, and what step to take next — practical, structured guidance instead of general encouragement.

Guidance from people who have been through the process matters.

Current, first-hand

Written by people who have just been through it.

Our mentors are studying medicine right now. The advice reflects what actually works today — the statement that got read this cycle, the UCAT format sat this summer, the interview questions asked this winter. Not what worked a decade ago.

What we help with

Four points where applications are won or lost.

start wherever it hurts most
01

Personal statement review

A mentor reads your draft the way an admissions reader will, then writes back what lands, what reads as filler, and the changes worth making first.

Get your statement reviewed
02

UCAT preparation

We find where you are losing marks before we teach anything, then build sessions around that section. One-to-one or small group, tutor matched by hand.

03

Interview support

We support students through medicine interviews every cycle — the format, the reasoning behind the questions, and how to answer as yourself rather than from a script.

04

Application guidance

Choosing where to apply, reading entry requirements honestly, sequencing the year. The decisions made before the deadline that quietly shape the outcome.

The team

Three people, and you will speak to them.

All three are studying medicine at Southampton. Between them they cover the statement, the UCAT and the interview.

  • UCAT 3040 including a perfect 900 in Quantitative Reasoning — equivalent to 2280 under the current scoring

Why it matters

Mentorship does what a guide cannot.

There is no shortage of general advice about applying to medicine. What is scarce is someone reading your statement, looking at your UCAT section scores, and telling you plainly what to do next.

That is the whole of MedNexus: clarity instead of noise, structure instead of scramble, and mentors close enough to the process to be specific. We cannot promise an offer — nobody honestly can. We can make sure you go into it prepared and knowing why.

Start with the part that is worrying you most.

Send us where you are up to. A MedNexus mentor reads it and replies — no obligation, and no charge for asking.
